Neva Rowland is the founder of Ad Astra Per Musica, offering in-person and online music lessons. In 1997, Neva picked up a saxophone and joined her school’s band, and she hasn’t looked back since. She studied saxophone with Dr. Joanne Britz at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2010. In pursuit of a Masters degree in Instrumental Music Education, Neva studied clarinet with Dr. Britz, trumpet with Dr. Todd Hastings, and oboe with Dr. David Hurley (Emeritus Professor) – all of Pittsburg State University.

During her nine years in the classroom, Neva taught Beginner through High School Band, Choir, Guitar, Piano, and Music Theory. She used music to guide her students to develop perseverance, empathy, teamwork, and leadership skills. Neva is committed to teaching people how to be good humans through music. Under her tutelage, many of her students earned high honors at state music festivals and honor bands, performing quality music at an advanced level. If you, or a loved one, enjoys music and wants to take their skills to the next level, then Neva is the person to help you get there. Between her passion for music and helping people, her success in music education speaks for itself.

Neva lives in Kansas with her wife and their two dogs, Holland and Addison. She enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, and creating visual art in her free time – anything where she can stretch her creative muscles. Traveling, experiencing new places and meeting new people are important to Neva; she would love to meet you! Contact her on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok at @adastrapermusica.
